The Wilfrid University Application Processes

  1. Apply online.

  4. Forward your required credentials.
  5. Strengthen your application.
  6. Apply for an entrance bursary.

Admission Averages for Wilfrid University

How we calculate your entrance standard depends on the program to which you are applying. All Science programs, BBA programs (including Double Degrees), and Economics programs include required courses as a part of your admission average. All other programs calculate your admission average using your top six 4U/M courses (or equivalent).

Basic Admission requirements for Wilfrid University

Ontario High School core curriculum

  •  Your access is based on your top six 4U and 4M courses. For some programs, your required courses are premeditated in your admission standard.
  • 4U English at a minimum of 60% (or higher for some programs).
  • All required courses scheduled in your program’s admission necessities must be at a minimum of 60% (or higher for some programs).
  • To sustain your offer of admission and start studying at Laurier, you must acquire your Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and meet up with all the settings outlined on your certified offer of the entrance.

Intercontinental Baccalaureate (IB) program of study

  • If you are just finishing an International Baccalaureate diploma, analysis our international curriculums section for your requirements.
  • If you are taking IB courses alongside another program of study, your application is assessed using your complete academic records.
  • You will be given a transfer credit (up to the different of six courses), depending on your choice of program.

If you have studied in an English-language school system on a full-time basis for a minimum of three years, you may request an exemption from submitting an English aptitude assessment score.

If you do not meet Laurier’s English proficiency requirement but are academically qualified for your program, you may be eligible for a restrictive offer of admission.

The English language Proficiency Minimums for Admission into Wilfrid UNiversity

In taking the English Proficiency test you will have to make arrangements for yourself and have the results forwarded directly to our office. In some testing centers, they might require our institution code which is 0893

Accepted English Proficiency Tests and Preparation Programs
Language Test or Preparation Program Minimum Score Requirement
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Internet-based testing (TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Home Edition): an overall score of 83 or higher with the least amount score of 20 in each section.

Paper-based testing: 560 overall.

International English Language  Testing System (IELTS) An academic score of 6.5 or higher with a minimum of 6.0 in each band.
Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL) CAEL of CAEL Online: 70 overall; 60 in each band.
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) 59 general or higher.
Cambridge Assessment English C1 Advanced A general score of 176.
Duolingo English Test* Least amount score of 115.
Atlantic Canada Language Academy (ACLA)

(Formerly Eurocentres Atlantic Canada University Pathway Program)

Completion of stage 7/B2+.
International Language Academy of Canada (ILAC) University Pathway Program University Pathway III diploma: PW 3.3.
International Language Schools of Canada (ILSC) University Pathway curriculum Completion of stage A2.
Laurier English and Academic Foundation (LEAF) Program Conclusion of Level 5.
Renison University College’s English for Academic Success Higher level (400) with a suitable final score of 75%.
Conestoga College’s Intensive English Language for Academic Success Level 4 with a fitting final score of 70%.
University of Guelph’s English Language Diploma Program Higher-level 9 and 10 with a satisfactory final score of 75%.

Note that: Laurier will accept Duolingo for fall 2021, winter 2022, and spring 2022 admissions. A decision to accept Duolingo for fall 2022 admissions is under review.

 The Application Deadlines for Wilfrid University Admission

  • For Fall 2021 admission (Ontario high school students): Jan. 15, 2021.
  • Fall 2021 admission (all other applicants): April 1, 2021.
  • spring 2021 admission: March 17, 2021.
  • For winter 2022 admission: The annual application time limit is in November
