Nigeria Applicants Requirements

If you are applying from Nigeria, you must contact [email protected] prior to submitting an application to Mount Allison University.

Applications that are not submitted via [email protected] will not be assessed for admittance by Mount Allison.

These are the Maximum entry necessities:

  • NECO or WAEC senior secondary school exam results
  • A bare minimum score of C4 or 4 in five exams including:
    • A minimum score of C4 or 4 in English
    • Bachelor of Science: a bare minimum score of C4 or 4 in math and one science examination.

Applicants must Provide pin details (scratch card) to confirm NECO or WAEC results
Students who have had additional schooling after high school (i.e. HD, HND, university), please apply as a post-secondary transfer student. A maximum CGPA of 2.0 out of 4.0 is essential.

General admission requirements for Ontario High School students:

Regular admission: To be considered for admission, the least amount of final grade of 65% or the equivalent is necessary for all university-preparatory courses reviewed.

Early admission: Applicants may be considered for early admission based on their final grade 11 transcripts. The least amount in admissions average of 80% is required for consideration.

Advanced Level Courses of listed university-preparatory courses are accepted for admissions purposes.

French Immersion equivalents of scheduled university-preparatory courses are accepted for admissions purposes.

Ontario university-preparatory electives:
All 4U and 4M level courses are accepted as university-preparatory courses.

For Science:

Vital needs: English (ENG4U), basic Functions (MHF4U), one 4U-level science course, and a maximum of two extra grade 12 university-preparatory electives. All applicants without a 4U-level science course will be assessed on a case by case basis for admission into the BSc curriculum.

How to Apply for Admission into Mount Allison University:

STEP 1: you can apply for admission & scholarships

Applying for September 2021: Submit your admission application and $50 application fee (Visa or MasterCard only).

If you are:

STEP 2: forward your supporting credentials

High school students:

  •  The Early admission begins -Oct. and ends Jan.
    Final Grade 11 record & grade 12-course list (mid-year Grade 12 transcript vital if available)
  • General admission starts from Feb. and ends in Sept.
    Mid-year Grade 12 transcript or last high school record if accessible

Transfer students:

  • Most up-to-date post-secondary transcripts for all institutions attended and final high school transcript

STEP 3: Accept your offer of admission & scholarships

We will keep you in the loop every step of the way! You will receive an email when:

  •  When your application is received
  •  If your supporting documents are received
  •  Before we begin your review
  •  Then your application review is complete

When your application is review and it is completed, you will be notified of the result by e-mail and by letter. We will also include your anticipated scholarship value (to be verified in April).

Once you are accepted you have to look into the following:

  • verify your intent to attend Mount Allison by submitting your registration deposit ($100 for Canadian citizens and permanent residents; $250 for international students) by May 1
  • Once your deposit is received and processed, the deposit confirmation will be e-mailed to your mta.ca e-mail account.
