To apply to the college you must get an Ontario secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or an equivalent.
If you do not have a High School Diploma:
- The College accepts General Educational Development (GED) certificates, and Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) Ontario certificates.
- Applicant must be over 19 years of age, or will be by your program start date, you may as well apply as a mature student without the equivalent to a High School Diploma.

English Language Requirements
Adding to admission requirements applicants whom their foreign language is not English are to provide the following:
- Proof of English language requirements acceptable score
- Successful completion of Algonquin College’s EAP program.
- TOEFL: diploma /certificate programs- internet-based test-80
- Post –graduate : internet based test-88
- International English Language Testing Services (IELTS): Diploma/Certificate programs – Academic IELTS with 6.0 overall and no band below 5 – Degree/Post-Graduate – Academic IELTS with 6.5 overall and no band below 6.0.
- Canadian Academic English Language Assessment Test (CAEL) -Diploma/Certificate programs – CAEL 60 – Degree, Post-Graduate – CAEL 70.
